COVID-19: 50 security personnel among 353 fresh positive cases, J&K tally mounts to 16782 | KNO

Srinagar, July 24 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Friday recorded 353 fresh cases of COVID-19 pandemic including 33 travelers, a doctor and over 50 security personnel, taking the total number of positive cases to 16782. With 353 new cases, the total number of cases in the UT have reached 16672 including 13302 from Kashmir and 3480 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), among 353 new cases, 224 cases, belong to Kashmir division while as 129 are from Jammu division, officials said, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 13302 including 7291 recoveries while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 3480 including 1926 recoveries and 21 deaths. The officials that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 7269 including 5736 from Kashmir division and 1533 from Jammu division. With 508 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 9217 which is 54.92 percent of the total cases which was over 63 percent few days before. Pertinently, Srinagar district alone has 3648 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 3480. "Cases tested positive in J&K include 40 from Srinagar, 02 from Baramulla, 83 from Kulgam, 59 from Shopian, 04 from Pulwama and 36 from Bandipora while as 129 from Jammu division include 45 from Jammu, 29 from Kuthua, 07 from Rajouri, 04 from Udhampur, 24 from Ramban, 13 from Samba, 02 from Poonch, 04 from Kishtwar and 01 from Reasi," officials disclosed. As per officials figures, 3648 positive cases including 82 deaths and 1478 recoveries are from Srinagar, 1740 including 62 deaths and 1078 recoveries are from Baramulla, 1437 including 905 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Kulgam, 1352 including 20 deaths and 886 recoveries are from Shopian, 1131 including 21 deaths and 721 recoveries are from Anantnag, 1008 including 607 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Kupwara, 1132 including 571 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Pulwama, 984 including 517 recoveries and 20 deaths are from Budgam, 561 including 387 recoveries and 07 deaths are from Bandipora and 309 including 141 recoveries and 05 death are from are from Ganderbal. In Jammu division, 757 including 442 recoveries and 13 deaths are from Jammu district, 433 including 287 recoveries and 01 death are from Kathua, 508 including 122 recoveries and 02 death are from Rajouri, 386 including 299 recoveries and 01 death are from Udhampur, 463 including 240 recoveries are from Ramban, 362 including 187 recoveries and 01 death are from Samba, 210 including 109 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Doda, 166 including 131 recoveries and 01 death is from Poonch, 96 including 34 recoveries are from Kishtwar and 99 including 45 recoveries are from Reasi. As per the daily information bulletin, 347,939 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 42,781 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 7269 persons are in hospital isolation while 12 persons are under hospital quarantine. According to the bulletin, 256,662 persons have completed surveillance period and 40,919 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 559,399 samples are available. Out of 559,399 the number of samples tested negative stands at 542,616 while as 16,782 have been tested positive, among them 7269 are active and 9217 persons have recovered—(KNO)
